I had booked kingfisher flight tickets from Mumbai to Chennai on yatra.com, and being the researcher that I am; I looked at a number of websites for fare options, including flykingfisher (offered me the lowest price, Rs.14 lower than the lowest online price on yatra.com for that particular flight only).

Despite the lower price, I booked with yatra because they had a “Paid Meal” on the flight. When kingfisher said there are no free meals, yatra had the flights marked with “Paid Meal” Read more…

Customer service – Cleartrip.com & Snapdeal.com

https://i0.wp.com/i53.tinypic.com/2ez1u10.jpgIf you own a company and want to test your customer service rating, give me your product. I’ve had to fight, quarrel, threaten and sweet talk so many customer service executives of different companies to earn this status! Yes, I know how to deal with you guys, or do I?

You might say that I’m never satisfied, but the truth is that I take a stand only when I feel that I have not been offered a product that is value for money. There are many instances in the blog already to read about, this one is to highlight the ones that have not made it here…

IRCTC’s better new system?

July 27, 2010 2 comments

After previously being irritated by the slowness of IRCTC when booking Tatkal tickets, today brought a great surprise. Login time 8.02 AM, 2 mins after the bookings opened. Home page load – less than a second. Time to login – less than a second, Ticket availability search – less than half a second, Availability display  – half a second. Filling traveler, Payment details – 2 seconds. To making payment on bank website, back to ticket confirmation on irctc – less than 5 seconds. Printing ticket confirmation – one second. Log out of IRCTC – half second. In totality what was a wait forever to login to the system is now less than 30 seconds, including the time for booking a ticket! Know why? Because Mamta Banarjee came out of that Kumbhakaran sleep and brought a ruling that blocks the ticketing agents from logging into the system before 9 AM. I don’t know whether this ruling has been enforced, but the experience has by far improved. Check out the experience for yourself at http://www.irctc.co.in

Planet M, Poor Customer Service, Low Quality Products and more..

May 18, 2010 48 comments

Over time I have grown to understand that despite you being careful, companies always find ways to dissatisfy you! With more companies laying effort on improving their goodwill through good customer service, there are companies who rarely care about the consumers after they have been looted for their money! In this post, There are two companies that I’m going to talk about, and therefore it goes without saying that it may end up being a long long post! Diving straight into the topic I’ll be first talking about a consumer friendly company Gillette, and the second, A (not so) popular music store in India, currently owned by videocon called Planet M. The Misery Continues – TataSky

September 26, 2008 7 comments

Miseries continue for most of the customers who bought TataSky as a trusted product. What aggravated me to write this blog is the letter i received. The letter carried the information related to the new packages being introduced from October 1 2008. All the more, comments from people(not on this blog, but on the forum as well) related to calling TataSky the best service in India aggravated things even further.

U might want to know what miseries are? Take a look at the add-on packs and Its charges. Read more…

Of course there are my comments as a part of this. Not many but a considerate amount of them. Let me see, Just under 25 i guess.

This post also happens to be my 50th Post! Thanks Shilpa for motivating in writing a blog a day. Also look at my Friend’s links on the right hand side. They are all worth looking at and commenting 🙂

This may not seem like a big achievement to fellow bloggers. Being a person who hates reading, who hated writing, who hated any activity other than Cricket and TV, this is a real achievement. Cheers! Read on to know more statistics of the blog.. As of now (September 25, 2008, 11.45am (IST).. Read more…

Complaints?? Write a Snail Mail

September 24, 2008 7 comments

If you’ve ever had to deal with a large corporation, government agency, or other service provider, chances are likely that you’ve encountered a problem. If you’ve complained about the problem and found yourself brushed off or ignored, you may feel that it’s time to write a complaint letter. Complaint letters aren’t always fun, but sometimes they need to be written. In many cases, if people don’t complain, the problem agency at fault (i.e. company or government) won’t even know that the problem you and others may have experienced, even exists…. Read more…
