#IPL back in India

“We missed winning the last season of the IPL, But that’s not the only thing we missed!.. We missed you too!” says Anil Kumble donning the Red RCB Jersey. 8 franchises, over 100 international cricketers, several bollywood stars, billions of dollars and Mr.Lalit Modi bring back what turned out to be the ‘Reality shows ka baap’ back into India. Yes, It’s back and It promises to be bigger. DLF IPL is back in India.

With just about 2 months to go before the festivities begin, the blogging space is abuzz with fans discussing ‘Keiron Pollard’! Come CLT20 – A star was born and with only $750,000 limit, franchisees could end up paying up to the last dollar for him. Kieron Pollard could end up being the next big thing to the IPL itself. The man not only carries the ability to clear any ground with ease but can also turn his arm once in a while leaving some of the best T20 batsmen feeling for the deliveries. No franchisees have listed their favorites yet and with only 11 spots to be filled by the 60 players on auction list,  it promises to be the biggest cat fights of all. Hey, there are these other stars that are on the auction list too.

Bids for Pakistan’s star all rounder Shahid Afridi, Former South African all rounder – Justin Kemp, New Zeland’s super fast bowler – Shane Bond and The Trinidad and Tobago star Darren Ganga could surpass KP and Flintoff’s pay package! Wyane Pannel(SA) has done enough to prove their performance in T20 while Eion Morgan (England) joins the auction for his ability with the bat. Shakib Al Hasan(Bangladesh) can help strengthen the middle order, while Australian pacer Doug Bolinger can give the batsmen a run for their money with his testing line. Nathan McCullum(NZ) elder brother of NZ wicket keeper Brendon McCullum is also in the running following his good form with the bat. Rising Pakistan star Umar Akmal the younger brother of WK Kamran Akmal is also in the hot seat!

Who will make the final cut? Even @LalitKModi can’t tell. Follow @IPL on twitter for more updates on the auctions on the 19th! Do checkout the IPL promotional videos on the official Ipl website, IPL 3.0 promises to be a bigger and better entertainment for the fans!

Who am I supporting? Guess you haven’t been following me on Twitter or facebook, It’s up there for all to see! However, The thought of having to remain loyal to one team gives me chills. I have favorite players in all teams, but I’m going all crazy over @RCBTweets for their employment of Mr. Rahul Dravid who I wish could teach me to perfect my Forward Defensive. Sourav-Dada-Ganguly is back as @kkriders captain, and the whole of India is celebrating. Here’s wishing Dada all the luck to proving why he was called the best Indian captain! Guess Shahrukh(@iamsrk) will have to play down his Gunda type attitude to see a better performance from the team.

I live in #Chennai, and it will be hard to cheer for a team against a massive 50k crowd, guess I’ll be supporting them too in a Non RCBian game. I may cheer a Dada sixer while see my home team go down and I hope to see more fans join me doing that. Chennai has been known for it’s #cricket loving #crowd and I hope nothing changes this time around too. For all Chennai fans who are worried about the stadium being ready before the games begin, COO Sundar Raman(@ramansundar) reassures me on twitter “@kunaljanu absolutely yes. The construction is in full swing and will be ready by IPL”.

I love Delhi(@delhidaredevils) for the Sehwag-Gambhir combo. I hope they use McGrath’s experience on the field than off it. Mumbai Indians (@mumbaiindian)don’t interest me if not for Sachin and Sanath, probably one of the deadliest opening combination among the other teams. KXIP are a passe, I hope they do enough to change my thoughts. Yuvraj hasn’t done enough as a captain and it was only right to change that! Well done @realpreityzinta @kxip

Twitter space is abuzz with the IPL just two months away. Follow Mr. Lalit Modi (@LalitKModi) on  twitter to get the latest updates on @ipl. Follow IPL COO Mr. Sundar Raman on twitter who shares: “Welcome South Australia to CLT20. They have been brilliant all through the Big Bash.” Oh yes, and before i forget, SA have qualified for CLT20 2010. Who are your favorite IPL teams? Do also check out his cool post: Twenty20 in Twenty10

Which team are you supporting? The loyalty confusion begins March 12, 2010. DLF IPL is back in India!
