“We were in a similar sort of a situation last year, and we qualified for the semi finals” said Ricky Ponting at the toss of the all important make or break match for the Australians against Srilanka. After a humiliating defeat against the West Indies, Australia not only had to win but win big. Match winning half centuries from Captain Kumara Sanagakkara and the in-form Delhi Daredevil Tilakarathne Dilshan ensured they chased down the meager 160 run target with six balls to spare.

Ever wondered how things around you were first invented? Ever wondered what were the motivation behind the inventions?
I have always been amazed by early inventions, and the invention of the telephone is by far the most interesting. Did you know that the main motivation behind the invention of the telephone was ‘LOVE’? At least I was not aware of it until I saw a show last night on the discovery of the telephone. Yes, it’s TV again. Don’t you ever call that an idiot box again.
I couldn’t find the video on the internet, But I did find a real good page explaining everything from start to stop, And I made a new discovery: AT & T, the telecom company is the direct corporate predecessor of the Bell telephone company. Read the rest of this entry »

Where is Flight Air France 447? Will Zaheer Play? Is Rahul Gandhi our next Prime minister? What’s on Pakistan’s mind? Is Frieda Pinto most sexy? If you like my performance, please vote for me? It not just another question that confuses my mind, it’s a question to which I just cannot find an answer.
(Click on the image to enlarge it)
Before I proceed into asking the question, I imagine a friend saying: “Why blog?” I have this strange habit of solving problems while asking the question. I have been able to answer the question myself even before I have completed asking it. This is ‘Why’ I ‘Blog’ also there’s hope that the readers help me with it.
The thought, strangely unlike the others, comes from the favorite part of my life: Watching Television
More details and the all important question that i seek answer to follows.. Read the rest of this entry »

Season 2 of the Indian Premier League came to an interesting end with the bottom two teams from the last season finishing at the top. Deccan Chargers continued their good form through out the tournament by first defeating the In-Form Delhi Daredevils in the semi’s, the Bangalore Royal Challengers in the finals in a closely contested final. It’s been almost 5 days since the final was played, and I’m starting to miss it already, more because i knew which channel I had to tune to for some entertainment. Not far from now, Another T20 tournament begins, Defending champions India will be seen with 11 other teams for the coveted trophy of the T20 World Championship. Schedule and details follow. Who could have asked for a better looking points table in the season 2 of the IPL. With just 6 games to go before the first semifinal, No 3 and 4 in the points table are still up for grabs. The Bangalore Royal Challengers are still in contention as all eyes are fixed on how they perform. Specially the Rajasthan royals, whose only hope is a Bangalore win and somebody’s loss. Deccan Chargers one run loss against the Kings Punjab means that both teams now need to win their last match to make it to the semis. The tournament is now wide open, and it could well be anybody’s game. More match Scenario’s follow.. Read the rest of this entry »

Wooing the allies is the buzz of the hour as Five States voted in the last phase of the central government elections for India on the 13th of May, bringing an end to what is known to be the most closely contested elections so far. Exit Polls by most Indian News channels suggest a BJP ally government to replace the existing Congress party at the centre. Some media experts however do not rule out the opposite leaving more space for discussion. But this post has got more to do with my thoughts about the section 49(O) of the Indian constitution a.k.a ‘No Vote’.

This post is a continuation to my previous post that talks about my memories in school till class X.
Everybody would arrive early on the first day of the new class, Why? You want to occupy the best seat in the class, wouldn’t you? Of course, there lied a risk about your class teacher moving you but there is still hope! I was late and was hoping to fill the seat in the first row. To my surprise the seats left were on the last row an close to a window. As I walked to take my seat, I laughed at the foolishness of my friends for having left it. Read the rest of this entry »
