Hack Proof Your Life – Part II – Identity Theft

November 27, 2009

I booked my train tickets to Hyderabad for the first time on Yatra.com, Was truly impressed with the way the booking works. Don’t worry, this is not one of those bad reviews. If you’ve been on Yatra before – they offer free Yatra Barclay credit card with all the bonus features on registration. The offers were acceptable though most of them applied to Delhi and Mumbai, considering that it was free for lifetime, I applied!

The sales people call back almost immediately or at the max in 24 hours right? Barclay didn’t seem to care. Normally i followup, but this time I didn’t care! Enjoyed my first 3 day trip to Hyderabad. A beautiful city that it is, Hyderabad has a lot to offer in terms of places to visit. But surely, there isn’t a better feeling than returning home :) Back to routine life :) Back on my feet after a wonderful Friday in Hyderabad! :) One fine day the phone rings.. it’s about 6.30 PM in the evening.. Tring Tring.. Tring Tring.. Read the rest of this entry »

Hack Proof Your Life – Part I

November 23, 2009

Mental BlockIt’s been a while and my mental blockade hasn’t faded away.. The last blog on how twitter has changed my life won me Rs.1200 worth planet M voucher.. Phew a reward when you are facing a blockade is good motivation. If that wasn’t enough, talking to Disha, who I met at the RCB fanatic fan challenge helped. There is so much to discuss, so many buffered memories, so many topics, so much to discuss! LVS, this discussion is going to be in parts but i don’t garuntee on the length of the post, I’ll know when it’s complete :) .. How many parts? One? two? three? ten? I’m not sure.. Lets just get started.

The following is a conversation that i had with one of my friends two years back that I hope has thought him a lesson..
“Hey, I’m unable to login to my orkut account.” exclaimed my friend. “May be you are typing the wrong password, Check if caps lock is on.”.. Read the rest of this entry »

The High’s and Low’s of Indian Cricket

November 17, 2009
Dravid thumps the Air after a hundred at the Motera International Cricket Stadium in the first test against Srilanka 16 Nov 2009

Hit me Baby One more Time!!! The Happier Times!

On the High Side: From what could have been bad memories of the motera last year when South Africa bowled us out for a meager 76 off 20 overs to what we are now, 385/6 featuring the highest number of runs from Dravid’s bat in a single day, 11000 runs in test cricket – Rahul Dravid returned to international cricket after having been left out of the 7 match one day series against Australia.  From being 32 for 4 at one point, India finished the first day of the first test match against Srilanka at 385 for 6, with Mr. Dependable, Mr. Always Perfect, The wall ,remaining not out on 177. Giving him company at the crease was Harbhajan Singh on 2. More about the match later..

On The Lower Side: Sachin’s comment on him being an Indian first before being a Marathi was questioned by Bal Thackrey in a Mumbai daily.

Sachin Vs Thackrey

Enough! Enough! Enough! Ab bas bhi karo yaar! Spare him the horror!

Sachin was immediately asked to apologize or he’d lose support from all the Maharastrians in India. However Stupid that thought is, It’s time we respect and honor these legends. Media has to take more responsibility. Why should journalist’s ask such sensitive questions at all? Spare him the horror! Don’t we already have enough people talking about it? Thankfully Sachin didn’t apologize or say anything against it. A controversy is the last thing he wants. If he can’t be accepted by Marathi people in Maharashtra for a comment that was logically complete and correct, I welcome him to the state of Tamil Nadu where people are respected for what they are, no cast no creed no language or no colour!

Lets not make it even more controversial.. lets just dive in to what happened at the Motera.. Read on.. Read the rest of this entry »

An Engagement

November 11, 2009

Why was I here? Mydala. Yes. More about it later… Right, so why wasn’t I updating this space? I have been having a mental block of sorts; actually there is a lot to do but so less to talk! Updating the blog now seems like a thing of the past. As I type this post, I have no clue what It’ll end up being. But hey, it feels good to be back!

I haven’t been busy. Nor have I been having a clear thought, the confusion – still happens. I’m actually engaged, Engaged on Twitter and Facebook :D

Indian cricket team not doing well against Australia, Ravindra Jadeja taking Dravid’s place, Sreesanth’s return, Dada back as KKR captain, Chennai RCB Fan Club meetup, all of it which could have been a blog is now on Facebook or Twitter. For people who know me quite well, this might come as a surprise. I’ve always been a critic of social media. Of how it poses a threat to one’s personal life or how it’s addicting people… All of that is now changed… Read the rest of this entry »
