Pure luck or Good Cricket?

November 24, 2008

India managed another win. Pure luck or Good Cricket? I think it is a combination of both. Good Cricket because all the members of the team including people on the bench are peaking in their form. Gautam Gambhir and Virendar Sehwag seem to like playing the best innings of their lives. To bring Yuvraj back into form, bowl Broad. Zaheer with his determination and effort has been the spearhead of the Indian fast bowling department for over 2 years now. Ishant seems to be learning the trick of trade very quickly as he thanks Zaheer for his improvement. Munaf finally seems to understand the importance of Fielding apart from the bowling. Lot of others are also contributing to the team in every other way, be it celebrating the wicket of Kevin Pietersen they do it big time. Everything seems to be going right for India. About luc, lets take it a bit more.. Read the rest of this entry »

England in India 2009 – 3rd ODI, Kanpur

November 22, 2008

The current Indian captain, MS Dhoni is a proud man following his teams effort in winning third consecutive ODI against England and helping his records as a captain. India did the heavy work over an under-par England total in the first closely contested match of the series. India won the game thanks to the superior run rate under the Duckworth/Lewis method when bad light stopped play which curtailed the chase to 40 overs. India were 16 runs ahead of the D/L par score when bad light stopped play. When play was not possible any further India were declared winners by 16 runs. For more On the match read on.. November 19, 2008

Ishant Cleared to play, but the selection is Undecided
Ishant Sharma has been declared fit to play the next (3rd) ODI at Kanpur on November 20,2008. Ishant earlier had his ankle checked with the BCCI doctor who declared that Ishant was only suffering from a minor sprain and could play in the series if he had rested. The selection committee is however undecided of whether Ishant should be picked or rested for another game. Read the rest of this entry »

England Plays into India’s hand..

November 18, 2008

England bowlers continued bowling short pitched deliveries to Yuvraj singh who continued in sublime form to take India to a 2-0 lead in the 7 match one day series. Very few people would have backed Yuvraj to improve on the 78 ball 138 in the first match. But Yuvraj was one better. he scored a what should be called a ’sensible knock’ to lead India to a good position from when he joined Gautam Gambhir with India tottering at 29/3. Yuvraj became the man of the match for his all round performance with the bat and the ball. Yuvraj picked 4 for 28 runs adding to the 118 runs he scored. His price scalps included England captain Kevin Pietersen and Vice Captain Andrew Flintoff. For more match analysis, Read on.. Read the rest of this entry »

India won the fourth and final cricket test match against the mighty Australian team trashing them by a full 179 runs. All news channels in the country were running specials on how Team India evolved from being under dogs to challengers to champions. Just one series win against Australia, and the media calls MS Dhoni a more successful captain than his precedents. Here is my take at what happened in the final test match at Nagpur. I wonder if i can make you rich..

November 10, 2008

I wonder if i can make you rich. If i can’t surely this can. I have been going through this site for quite sometime now, and the time has come for me to suggest this to you. Lets just go through the real reason for this suggestion. With world economies in turmoil, People around the world are worried. I had been talking to friend in US, sometime in the conversation i asked him if the were really worried. “Everyone is talking about it. A Kid, 10 years old stopped asking for pocket money from his mom as he thought the family had become poor. Would u believe that. People are going nuts over the economy. Everyone is talking about the stock markets crash. People who know nothing more than 1 grand = 1000 dollars are now talking about how policies to bring the economy back to full swing. Every single person in America is talking about it.” He said. Read the rest of this entry »

An open letter to Raj Thackrey from Rajdeep Sardesai

November 6, 2008

The following letter is a snapshot of a detailed letter that Rajdeep sardesai, editor, CNN IBN has written to Raj Thackrey following his arrest for causing problems to the ‘Bihari’ or the ‘Bhaiyya’ communiy in Mumbai.

My Dear Raj,

My apologies for having to communicate through the editorial pages of a newspaper, but frankly am left with little choice since you seem to have decided to stay away from the so-called ‘national’ non-Marathi media. Let me at the very outset say that I am impressed with the manner you have carved a niche on the political landscape of Maharashtra. I distinctly remember meeting you in February last year soon after the Mumbai municipal corporation elections. It wasn’t the best of times: your party, the Maharashtra Navnirman Sena had been marginalized while your cousin Udhav Thackeray and the Shiv Sena had captured power in the city. With many of your supporters deserting you, you appeared down, if not quite out. Twenty months later, I see you’ve bounced back: every local and national daily has you on the front page, you are the subject of television debates and your politics has even united Bihar’s warring netas. The man behind so many of India’s greatest victories in Test cricket, Anil Kumble, has announced his retirement from cricket. The news came as a shocker to the many million fans across the country, more to the thousands seated at the Delhi’s feroz shah kotla stadium. Anil, one of the pillars of the Indian spin bowling department said that the finger injury he sustained on the third day of the Test helped him make his decision. The news was made public minutes after the tea break on the final day; Kumble then bowled four overs before the match was called off as a draw. Read the rest of this entry »
